Seeing Shapes & Finding Form
So many visual experiences in life pass us by. We travel on trains, in automobiles, and even walk swiftly down a street and often miss the world I find, as I search with intent – my camera in hand. In “Seeing Shapes & Finding Forms,” my focus is primarily on what may appear ordinary at first glance. But the commonplace prompts my curiosity and attention, and I find significance in the shapes and graphic elements of the object or scene I stumble upon.
As I work with each image, I am mindful of producing a result that not only reflects what my camera captures, but also what I see as an artist that catches my eye. I print these photographs in black and white to emphasize form and composition.
